XEnergy is a networking platform where our female members together with male colleagues have the opportunity to connect, learn new information and strengthen their network of acquaintances. Since it was first established in 2007, AKUO has invested nearly € 2,8 billion in renewable electricity generation and storage projects in more than fifteen countries.
On Thursday, April 23, we socialized at another interesting networking event that we organized with our corporate member Privredna banka Zagreb. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our new corporate member – the powerful Doğus Group, one of the largest private sector conglomerates in Turkey, with a portfolio of 250 companies in 7 industries. In Croatia, Doğus Group is known as the first Turkish investor in our country and has been present in Croatian tourism for 12 years. It has previously built a chain of marinas and hotels, but has since sold these projects and is currently developing the most challenging and valuable project – the reconstruction of the Maraska Hotel in Zadar.

We are very pleased to announce that the circle of our corporate members has expanded to include IE-ENERGY, an innovative start-up company founded in March 2020, whose goal is to implement new technologies and create new functional and interconnected energy markets. IE-ENERGY is creating the first regional virtual energy community as an aggregated network of medium-sized decentralised power generation units such as wind farms, solar parks and combined heat and power (CHP) plants, as well as flexible electricity consumers and storage systems. The virtual energy community uses the technology of combining generation, storage and consumption units. The aggregated units form a unit and participate in the energy markets as a balancing group managed by IE-ENERGY.

KOER | The First Croatian Virtual Power Plant is our new corporate member and a successful example of a technology company specialising in innovative energy solutions. KOER has developed the infrastructure of the first Croatian virtual power plant and has thus also become an aggregator – a new participant in the electricity market that is the link between the electricity market and end consumers. KOER operates a virtual power plant as an aggregator, and end consumers provide part of their electricity generation and consumption capacities. Aggregators as new entities in the electricity market play a very important role under the conditions of rapid decentralisation of the electricity system, the growing share of renewable energy sources in the production mix and the expected increase in consumption and electrification of transport.

We’re proud to present the Honorary Member of XEnergy Mr. Vjekoslav Majetić, the winner of the prestigious competition EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2023. Mr. Majetić is the founder and owner of the company DOK-ING, which designs and manufactures robotic systems that protect human lives in the most dangerous operations, especially demining, firefighting and mining. Its demining machines are leaders with a global market share of 80% and are present in over 40 countries. In addition to these globally recognised products, Mr Majetić is also developing a new technology to produce hydrogen from sewage sludge, which will make an important contribution to the energy transition. It’s a great honour for us that Mr. Vjekoslav Majetić is our first honorary member, who enhances every idea and project with his tireless energy, creativity and vision.
With the new corporate member Nano Energies Croatia, XEnergy has already gathered 3 of the total of 4 registered aggregators on the Croatian market. The company Nano Energies Croatia is part of the Nano Energies Group from the Czech Republic, which started 15 years ago as an electricity trader and later as a supplier, and in recent years has dedicated itself entirely to the aggregation of flexibility.
Another international company that develops projects in the field of renewable energies has become our corporate member. VSB, headquartered in Dresden, is one of the leading full-service providers in the field of renewable energies. Its core business is the national and international project development of wind and photovoltaic parks, their operational management and the operation of its own parks.
The company ALTPRO is our new corporate member! We are very pleased that our membership has been extended by a specialized high-tech company engaged in the development and production of signaling and safety systems for railway infrastructure and railway vehicles. The company’s production program consists of train detection systems, systems for securing railway-road crossings and safety systems for vehicles based on INDUSI technology (I60 and PZB90). More than 30 years of experience in research, development and production in the railway sector make ALTPRO one of the most important factors in the global market with solutions in more than 50 countries on 6 continents.
