New corporate member - HOPS

We are particularly pleased to present our new corporate member HOPS, a key company for the success of the energy transition in Croatia. HOPS is the Croatian transmission system operator, the owner of the entire Croatian transmission network (voltage levels 400kV, 220kV and 110kV) and provides the transmission of electricity as a regulated public service. It operates according to the model of an independent transmission system operator and manages the regulatory area of the Croatian electricity system (EES). In the interest of secure and high-quality electricity supply to customers and electricity exchange, the Croatian EES is interconnected with the EES of neighboring countries and other ENTSO-E members which together form a synchronous network in continental Europe.

On April 11, XEnergy successfully organized the second cycle of one-day trainings on contracting the purchase and sale of green electricity, i.e. PPAs. The extremely successful first training, which took place in February, showed that there are still many doubts, which were clarified to the participants this time by XEnergy experts Minea Skok, Tina Jakaša, Martina Vajdić and Saša Jovičić, as well as our guests from Professio Energia Marko Karan and Miroslav Nikolić.

Second round table was successfully held

The roundtable brought together respectable keynote speakers and panelists. On behalf of the Ministry of Finance, Ana Zorić, Director of the Economic and Financial System Administration of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia, Ante Žigman, President of the Board of Directors of HANFA, and Magdalena Šoljakova, Head of the IFC Office for Croatia, Slovenia and North Macedonia, as well as Danijela Miloš Sprčić from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb gave an introduction to the panel discussion, which she moderated. The discussion was attended by top managers of leading Croatian companies from strategic sectors that are particularly exposed to the risks of the green transition. XEnergy’s corporate membership has been expanded to include another flagship company in the Croatian energy industry!Siemens Energy is a young company created by the spin-off of the operational unit Gas and Power (GP) from Siemens AG. It has been operating independently in Croatia since November 2019, and the company’s shares have been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since September 2020.
